Back when we first started planning our big event, I was trying to cut out unnecessary expenses and wedding favors was first on that list. But then I went to a few weddings and realized how nice it was to have a little treat right there at your plate. :) So, I came up with a special idea for our favors and now I’m so excited about how they turned out!
Chocolate seemed to be the obvious choice, and less likely to go to waste. I immediately thought of these amazing little chocolates that I used to eat all the time when I was living in Italy. They’re called “Baci,” which means “kisses” in Italian, and each piece is wrapped with a love note. (Italy is also where we are going on our honeymoon.) How perfect is that? Not to mention, they are sooooo delicious, made of a rich and creamy dark chocolate and filled with chopped hazlenuts.
To my surprise they were easily available on Amazon. But I let months go by without actually buying any, and by the time I checked Amazon again to make the purchase, I was lucky enough to get the last remaining bag available (in both dark chocolate and white chocolate). Phew!
Separately, I had been working on the design of our wedding invitations and decided to include a “logo” at the bottom of the email. Because we have a lot of birch logs and “woodland” decor, I wanted to make a heart with our initials as if it were handwritten or carved. I pestered Justin for his opinion on all different kinds of fonts but none of them seemed to work. I ended up just taking the mouse and drawing it myself with the paint tool in PhotoShop. And voila! We had our logo! So simple, but I liked it.
From there, I found an Etsy shop that makes custom stamps. All you do is send them a JPEG file of your image and they turn it into a stamp. So I did that with our logo, and then in the meantime bought a bunch of cotton muslin bags. My plan was to stamp each bag with our logo and then fill them with the yummy Italian chocolates.
The stamp recently arrived and it works like a charm! I can’t get over how simple and easy these are to make. Yet they are also super cute and totally personalized! And the chocolates are every bit as amazing as I remembered them. Hopefully I don’t eat them all before the wedding!
Il rumore di un bacio non e forte come quello di uncannone, ma il suo eco dura molto piu a lungo. The sound of a kiss is not so loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer.

I’m really trying hard not to sound like the typical gushing mom, but…YOU ARE AMAZING! This is my favorite idea yet!
btw, it took all of my willpower not to sneak a few of those chocolates into my pocket for later ;)

Also, I don’t think I had these Baci candies in Rome and nor do I remember you eating them…but maybe eating them will bring back the memories :)
