Wedding colors, part two

I just got back from a fun trip to Nashville for my cousin’s bachelorette party (she’s getting married in May!) so we’ll keep this weekend’s post short and sweet.

While my plane sat stuck on the runway waiting for an open gate, my mom texted me with an update on a previous post about my wedding shopping trip with my sister. That brand new smartphone Emily got for her birthday — her first smartphone ever — is apparently already lost!  She almost made it two whole weeks! Almost.

Also, if you recall, during our shopping trip Emily had some difficulty picking out flowers that matched my wedding colors. So I thought I should pose the question to Justin and see if he knew what they were going to be. His answer was even better than I expected…

Katie: Do you know what our wedding colors are?

Justin: Umm.

[Long pause. Justin thinks intensely.]

Justin: Muted.

[Katie laughs]

Justin: Isn’t that it?

[Katie keeps laughing]

Justin: What, I’m right aren’t I?

[More laughter]

Katie: I don’t think that’s a color.

Justin: Isn’t that what you always say?

Katie: Yeah, I guess that’s true. But muted what?

[Laughs]

Justin: Aren’t they muted?

Katie: Muted is an adjective to describe colors, but I don’t think muted is a color.

[Laughs more]

Justin: I answered correctly so I don’t see what’s so funny.

[Katie starts second-guessing herself, begins to look up “muted” at dictionary.com]

Katie: Muted means ‘of low intensity and reduced volume; softened.’

Justin: I still don’t see why I’m wrong.

Katie: OK, close enough.

Justin: Why are you typing everything I’m saying?

Katie: No reason.

More “muted” from Pinterest. Spot on!
