Now that I’ve reached eight months, I realized a lot of the symptoms I had during the second trimester seem to be gone. Even though they were things I thought would only get worse in the third trimester, based on what I have read.
I’m no longer as ravenous as I was before. And it was definitely ravenous — I’d be hungry just an hour or two after eating. Or sometimes even immediately after eating…
But now, not so much. Or at least it’s not nearly as intense. Instead of always feeling hungry, now I feel like I always have to go to the bathroom. Sometimes even immediately after going…
Also in the second trimester, my back hurt a lot more. My feet would sometimes throb and burn after walking. And I’d wake up every single night writhing in pain from those God-awful “charley horse” leg cramps in my calves or feet. (Seriously, those are THE WORST. One was so bad it left my leg sore for a couple of days. I woke up that night, dying, and said to Justin, “This has GOT to be worse than labor, right?” “Right,” he said. Good answer!)
Knock on wood, but thankfully all of that has disappeared. I think getting dressed might be the hardest part of my day now. Definitely could be worse!
The other weird thing is that, from what I heard, the so-called “nesting” feeling is supposed to kick in more in the third trimester as the baby nears. But for me, again, it seemed more apparent back in month 5 or 6. I was organizing the pantry, the clothes closet, the laundry room — even our tool box!
There’s plenty more left on my to-do list now, but I haven’t touched any of it the last few weeks. And I have zero urge to do so! I guess my second and third trimesters have flipped.
There’s still seven weeks left to go, however. So we’ll see how things change.

Is it appropriate for a mom to gush about her daughter’s incredible writing skills on said daughter’s blog?? That’s all I want to do!!
The tool box?? Impressive!
Love the photo of my beautiful sweetie!
