Since I was so, so late in sending out Christmas cards this year, I ended up using them as a birth announcement, too.
They only went out to a handful of people, though — I was too embarrassed to send them months late to Justin’s family and some of our other friends.
I had already had a couple ideas that I wanted to do for Christmas cards. First, my sister Emily took some cute photos of us carrying our tree home (who needs a car?!). Then I caught our puppy tearing that tree apart. The branch he ripped off was so big that it, too, made for some cute photos. But I kept putting it off and putting it off until we were into February.
At that point, we were getting ready to tell everyone that I was pregnant. So I figured why not add it to the card, even if it meant waiting even longer to send them.
The best part about buying Christmas cards in February, though, is that they’re 60 percent off! Score!
I think ultimately I mailed them in March. But at least we got to include the big news!

Love the photos!! In the third photo, Luc is definitely thinking “Oops! Busted!”
