Wedding colors, part three

The wedding palette saga continues…

After poking fun at my sister and then also my fiance for not really knowing our color scheme for the wedding, I found myself chuckling again last night over the confusion I’ve created with this palette choice. (It’s supposed to be a mix of neutrals, including beige, champagne and grey, plus a little blush, dusty rose and mauve. Or something like that.)

I was at a meeting with my caterer to pick out table linens and when I didn’t really like any of the shades of pink, I asked her if they had anything in mauve. Speaking in her adorable French accent (she’s from the French Riviera — ooh la la!), the caterer told me bluntly that she didn’t know what color I was talking about. Mauve, after all, can be a variety of shades, depending on who you ask. Ain’t that the truth!

To my surprise, the napkin color that I ultimately chose was called “lavender.” So at the end of the day, I apparently don’t know my own wedding colors either!!

Maybe Justin was right all along — I’ll just go with “muted” from now on!

That’s still kind of neutral, right? #makingthingsupasyougo #purplewedding
