Our wedding reception will be held at the same location as the ceremony, at the Bridgeport Art Center, in the very special Skyline Loft. Cocktail hour will begin immediately after the ceremony. Dinner and dancing to follow.
The drinks are on us tonight!
As most of you already know, Justin and I live to eat, rather than eat to live! To that end, we’re very excited to have the folks at D’Absolute Catering cooking up a delicious meal for all of us at the reception. Check out what’s on the menu for the evening:
HORS D’OEUVRES
- Traditional Tomato Bruschetta with Chopped Artichoke Hearts, Fresh Basil and White Balsamic served in a Wooden Spoon topped with Parmesan Cheese Crouton.
- Goat Cheese and Red Grape Lollipops topped with Crushed Pistachio.
- Basil Grilled Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella in Phylo Cups with Roasted Peppers, Artichokes and Fresh Basil.
SALAD
- Baby Mixed Greens Salad with Grilled Red Apples, Dried Cranberries, Caramelized Walnuts, Grape Tomatoes and Champagne Vinaigrette Dressing.
ENTREE
You will be able to select one of the following options:
- Marinated and Grilled Salmon Fillet topped with Fresh Mango Relish. Served with Roasted Garlic Red Mashed Potatoes with Crème Fraiche and Sautéed Green Beans topped with Butter and Toasted Almonds.
- Rosemary Garlic Grilled Ribeye Steak topped with Merlot Reduction. Served with Roasted Garlic Red Mashed Potatoes with Crème Fraiche and Sautéed Green Beans topped with Butter and Toasted Almonds.
- Home Made Four Cheese Ravioli tossed with Virgin Olive Oil, Roasted Garlic Cloves, Sautéed Shitake Mushrooms, Roasted Red Peppers, Fresh Basil and Parmesan Cheese.
- Kid’s meal: Chicken fingers with Mac and Cheese.
We’ll also have an open bar and a yummy dessert that’s still TBD — but that goes without saying!
DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
After dinner the dance floor will open up, featuring the amazing Bluewater Kings Band. I initially came across the band through a plug in the Chicago Reader. They were going to be playing a free show at the Abbey Pub, a bar not too far from our place, so Justin and I decided it couldn’t hurt to go and check it out. They blew us away by the first song, and now we’re so excited to enjoy their music on our wedding night.
With nine pieces — including a brass section — we’ve got an all-star line-up of musicians in store, and they will be playing a mix of oldies and contemporary songs that are sure to please. Meet you on the dance floor!!
